Trick or Treat, with a Twist:

Halloween Cocktails to Impress

Celebrate the season with sophistication and a touch of mischief.

Halloween doesn’t have to mean sugar overload or gimmicky drinks. With a few elegant touches, you can elevate your Halloween soirée into something truly special — think candlelit gatherings, smoky cocktails, and flavours that feel indulgent yet refined.

We’ve selected two of our speciality serves that capture the spirit of the season — featuring Martha’s Moonshine and Waterwitch Vodka from King Island Distillery Bass Strait spirits range. Each delivers a balance of depth and character, along with a touch of Halloween magic.

Witch’s Martini

Featuring Waterwitch Vodka

INGREDIENTS

• 60ml Waterwitch Vodka

• 10ml Dolin Dry Vermouth

• 2 drops of orange bitters

GARNISH

Giant olive stuffed with blue cheese

METHOD

Shake all ingredients, fine strain in a martini glass. Garnish with olive to serve.

To add a touch of Halloween, use a black olive or charcoal-salt rim (micro rim only). A single skewered black olive (especially one marinated in rosemary or gin botanicals) adds a moody depth. Or lightly dust the rim of the glass with charcoal salt — just enough to create a soft shadow effect when the glass catches candlelight.

A Haunted Halloween, Island Style

Both cocktails capture the essence of King Island — wild, elemental, and beautifully untamed — but with a playful edge for the season. So, light the candles, cue the music, and raise a glass to a Halloween that’s less “trick or treat” and more coastal sophistication with a hint of magic.
